10,000 Lakes Shared Setting
« on: June 22, 2017, 12:20:09 AM »
Hi Everyone,

The Technical Difficulties, Roleplaying Exchange, [Insert Quest Here], and other podcasting crews are hosting a shared setting! We've already recorded several episodes and because it's a shared setting we're looking for other folks interested in playing with us on some Thursdays and/or getting their own semi-regular games going.

Let us know below if you'd like to get into the podcast games and/or if you'd like to contribute NPCs, jobs, PCs, or other such things.

You can post them here, email me, or email <TechnicalDifficultiesPOD@gmail.com>.
Pixie ❤️ Sarge & vice versa.

I would be interested is playing when possible. I'm not sure my Takers can conveign often enough to take advantage of the setting, bit I might give a road trip at some point out there.

I would love to get in on some games if possible!  I'm one of those ForeverDMs for my local group so I'd relish the chance to actually get to play once in awhile!

I'd also be interested in joining you guys, especially since your setting is in my home state! Is there a place where we can find more setting info at the moment?

Whenever they start getting posted, just for reference this is Patrick aka Catfish the Bait and sometimes GM.

If you don't think you can make it, please give us ideas for local landmarks, events, oddities etc that might make good game material. I'm not even American so I can't claim any of that knowledge!

Where exactly is the enclave?

So, there isnt' actually a single enclave. The conceit of the shared setting is that there are multiple competing 'mini' enclaves littered around. We have a hospital, some boats lashed together on a lake, a boarding school, a wind farm... all sorts!

Okay, I just need a general area then. All I know is the title "10,000 Lakes", which I assume refers to Minnesota. Are you staying around the shore of Lake Superior or does it go significantly farther west than that?

Yo, this is Chris, one of the GMs and player of 0perator and Iditarod.

We're going pretty far afield and playing fast and loose with geography. I think the main enclaves we've ended up dealing with are on or close to Lake Superior, but this is the apocalyptic future and I think Flatcap has decided that some ridiculous man-made islands have been built off of Ellingson Island. So, uh, don't worry too much about things being too far away for color.

Nope, I was not involved even slightly in the creation of Operation Ellingson.

You might be conflating that with Zephyr's Bounty, the wind farms?

Possibly. I thought we had a conversation about that when you were working on making some jobs. My mistake!

This is Ethan, who's playing Taxey and sometimes running (hopefully more often once I get moved!)

We've gone at least as far west as Grand Rapids Minn. and Brainerd. Technically, Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan are in our region too, though I don't think we've gone that far afield yet.

Lonnie here, playing Martin Luther, a man of God and Latency. Most of the action is between the twin cities and Lake Superior so far.

What time do you guys usually play on Thursdays? I might be able to join but even if I can't I can still at least contribute to the setting. Who would I talk to about getting help for making jobs?
