I'd be interested in joining sometime and playing, maybe even run my own job once or twice.

I would like to get into this awesomeness one day as well if it is in cards.
What days and times do you all usually play and what type of equipment do you recommend for the podcast/recording side of things? I wouldn't want to bog it down with a crap mic and all.

We've been running on a lot of Thursday nights and Saturdays, but basically any time we can get enough players and a GM who can host the recording on their podcast.

For mics and stuff, don't worry, we're not picky, as long as we can hear you. I just use the built-in mic on a pair of midrange earbuds. We run over Google Hangouts, and the GM is responsible for hosting the audio afterward.

Most difficult part I have is naming my taker and his two dependents. Generalist/medic Roach (emt pre-crash), I figured he might have run with GILF at some point since his knowledge of Nursing Home protocols and layouts would have made him useful.

Alright, I think we may have overdone recruiting, so I'm going to call it here. Unless you've a podcast you want to add into the setting and can open up a day to run for the 10k, we need to limit the number of moving parts so more people get to play with less competition for seats at the table.

But! Once I get out of work, I'll post the living setting so people who're interested in the 10k can play around in the setting and see what's going on!

Shocka, Askew, PM me your respective email addresses and I'll fill you in on details.

Dang, this kind of blew up, huh?

Well, the first session was posted yesterday (I think) on TechDiff so even if you didn't get in the podcast check that out. Its the episode where we create the 10K region and flesh out the various minor enclaves that populate it.

Is there a writeup of the enclaves available?

What's the status of the Recession border in this setting? Reading the book I got the impression that vanilla canon was Mississippi-Illinois-Chicago with upper Illinois and Wisconsin left out in the cold, which would make sense for this play area.

Yeah, we're going vanilla-cannon for the Recession line

I'm working on a oneshot play area set in Iowa to introduce a friend of mine to the game, and looking at the map I had the idea that the Upper Illinois/Wisconsin region was a sort of "Recession Expansion" project by the DHQS; that's a lot of farmland the Recession desperately needs. In the Brutalists Caleb alluded that the DHQS was interested in pushing the border from Chicago to the upper Mississippi, and that's an absolutely massive undertaking--we're talking about doubling or tripling the upper Recession border from ~250 to ~600 miles, clearing out all those cities and the Chicago outskirts, converting or erasing all those enclaves. As of "today" the project is in its early stages with the DHQS establishing bases and settlements all throughout that territory, but that means heightened military and Steward activity and could provide a looming threat encouraging the Takers to fill their savings accounts and retire ASAP.

Food for thought, feel free to use or disregard. Looking forward to listening to some recorded games from this setting, and I might try to record a one shot or two in that playground once I get a stronger sense of the place.
