Is this how Gassed works?
« on: October 26, 2020, 03:13:42 PM »
The rules for being Gassed are really unclear and I need some help as one of my players has become Gassed in Session 1 Leg 1!
Does the following interpretation seem about right? (It's mostly assumptions and guesswork)

- When a Taker hits 0 Ration charges they become Gassed. This version of Gassed can only be undone by spending a Refresh point to restore their Ration charges to full (or by getting back home).
- When a Taker fills their torso with damage (that isn't all Kill) they become Gassed. This version of Gassed can only be undone by completely healing a single box of torso damage.

- Whilst Gassed a Taker's maximum Ration charges is equal to their Speed potential.
- If this happened via torso damage then they lose any Ration charges they had in excess of their Speed potential. Healing torso damage does not return lost Ration charges.

- Whilst a Gassed Taker's Ration charges are above zero there is no ill effect from being Gassed.
- Whilst a Gassed Taker's Ration charges are at zero they may not do anything at all quick or strenuous.
- After a round of not doing anything quick or strenuous (or getting hit) they may replenish their Ration charges to their Speed rating.
- E.g. With a Speed of 1 a Gassed Taker would lose (at least) half of their actions to being Gassed.

- If the Taker is still Gassed on the following day they start to starve and take 1 Stun damage to every hit location.
- If the Taker is still Gassed on the day after that they take 2 Stun damage to every hit location, and so on.
- This is in addition to the daily penalties of 1D10 Stun damage to the torso and a Self-control: Stress check from the Addictive quality of Rations.
