Yea I figured it was a long shot. But no harm in askin.

Yea those folks over at Kelly were stubborn and stupid. They set up a while after we did. Their 'Island' was a bunch of pontoons and house boats roped together on the north side of Yellowstone lake. Fort Stone offered them help but they declined. The next spring we went to check on em and half of the flotilla was sunk, the other half was littered with thawing corpses. We buried the dead and used to what was left of the flotilla to aid in expanding Fort Stone.

God-damn. It's crazy out here. Just got back from the League's first job. Simple pick up job for some crazy lady who wanted her wedding bands so she could marry her fiancé. No biggie right? Here's where it gets....interesting.

We've had some of them StopLoss guys holed up at Fort Stone for awhile and three of em got bored and accepted this crazy coot job months ago. Never came back. But we take the job anyway because we need some scratch, but as we were leaving this crazies house i..noticed something that was off. So we do the job, easy enough. Ran into a few casualties but nothin we couldn't handle.

Get back to the house, this crazy lady had it all ready done up. She had a dress on, a preacher man, and her....fiance. At this point I am completely sure this insane lady is about to get hitched to a casualty. But hey, she paid me so who am I to judge. Asks us to bare witness to the wedding. Not a big fan on weddings but we stayed...in the back...with guns in our hands.

Ceremony ends. Preacher man says you can kiss the bride then very hastily throws himself out of a window and takes off like the damn Road runner. Turns out its not just a casualty. Its a God-damn vector. One of them Ever-Vectors I'd heard about. She had strapped up inside a BDSM suit under the tux but when she let it go to 'kiss the bride'..well we all know what happens next. I promptly shoot the vec while it's tearing into the wife, then run up and dump a round in her head before she  was able to turn...because F*<k Vectors.

We searched the place. Found a pile of corpses in the basement. Even found the StopLoss folks. Best I can tell is when people would come for the job, she couldn't pay what they wanted so she fed em to the Vec and used their shit to offer more to the next crew. Psycho. Crazy. Shit.

Either way, I got a nice payday and ended the killing spree of a crazy lady. Life goes on.

Taboo? Shit it's taboo for us just to survive. This whole time I never once had the time or piece of mind to do anything but..survive. I mean hell, I guess It was taboo of me to cut off my best friends leg or when I left all of those kids at the college when the Vec's came..

Taboo. Heh. In the land of the dead, where lawlessness is the new law and genocide and murder are the norm, those of us who haven't lost ourselves are the new taboo.

What is your biggest regret through all of this?

Latents in Fort Stone are hard working women and men, most of which provide us with the security we need to survive. Everyone knows they are infectious and we all take the right precautions. There hasn't been an outbreak in Fort Stone that was linked to a Latent in our entire history. We treat them as we should, equals.

Now Priceline, I'm not talking about holding hands and singing songs. I'll always be the first to fight when there's a fight to be had. I know full well we need bounty to survive and I'm willing to do..questionable things to get it. But I don't deal with this sentiment that Latents are people or that they should not be treated as equally as non-latents. But I guess our views differ because I want nothing to do with the side of the wall that has declared us all legally dead.

If you ever find yourself working and need a proper sniper contact me. I'd be happy to work with a like minded individual like yourself.

Like wise! You ever around Yellowstone feel free to stop in and have some lightnin.

The Nazi's were pro-human too, as long as you were the type of human they liked.

We as a species faced an extinction level event with the Blight. We are still fighting that too. We don't need to push hate for Latents. We need to pull together as a species and stand fast against the Blight. Race, religion, or level of immunity shouldn't be held over anyone's head, not in times like this. I proudly stand beside anyone who wishes to combat this plague, latent or otherwise.

Man...I think we should just put all then Latents in some Internment Camps like the Nazi's did to the Jewish. That sounds amazing. -sarcasm-

Grifter here, from Fort Stone on Yellowstone lake.

I was a LEO before the Crash, but my brother Whirligig and me grew up in the wilderness of Yellowstone. When the vec's started rampaging we went somewhere we thought best to get away. No people, plenty of food options...and we knew the land like the back of our hand.

Ran into others who had the same idea. Together we built Fort Stone. Been there ever since. I helped out with keeping the place secure and keeping the peace, while Whirligig put that brain of his to work and made transport on the water easier with those steam engines.

Never the type to just make due, we joined up with some others and formed The League. Now we are well on our way to a comfy retirement out here in the Loss.

You in the area looking for info, safe harbor or need saving, reach out. The League will be there.

Grifter out.

(A hodgepodge of 'nerds' formed a taker group. Grifter is into comics, his favorite being Grifter from WildC.A.T.S and Whirligig was big into steampunk. The others...well we'll see haha)
